About this product
Blue Sea Systems MaxiBus 250A BusBar, two 5/16in studs + twelve #10-24 screws, 250A, 300V AC / 48V DC max. Manufacturer PN 2105.
The Blue Sea Systems MaxiBus 250A BusBar steps up from the Common BusBar family's 150A rating to 250A, while still offering a mix of stud and screw terminals — two 5/16in studs for heavier supply cable plus twelve #10-24 screws for individual branch circuits. It's a middle ground between the everyday Common BusBar and the very high-current PowerBar family.
Key features
- 250A continuous rating, 300V AC / 48V DC maximum
- Two 5/16in-18 stud terminals and twelve #10-24 screw terminals
- Raised bus design gives easy access to multiple wires on a single screw or stud
- Recessed mounting holes prevent accidental shorts to metal mounting surfaces
- Tin-plated copper CDA 110 bus material resists marine corrosion
This configuration suits a higher-current positive distribution point or ground bus — for example, consolidating a dozen branch circuit grounds behind a single heavy incoming ground cable at the battery bank. The raised bus keeps multiple ring terminals from crowding each other at a single connection point, and the recessed mounting holes reduce the risk of an accidental short against a metal panel or bulkhead nearby. It's also a natural companion for a nearby fuse block bank, consolidating each block's ground return in one place instead of daisy-chaining wires block to block.
Torque the screw terminals to 23 in-lb and the stud terminals to 132 in-lb. An optional insulating cover (PN 2718, shared with PN 2126) is available if the installation needs insulated terminals for ABYC/USCG compliance. Inspect stud connections periodically for corrosion, since a loose or corroded high-current connection is a common source of resistive heating.
