About this product
Blue Sea Systems Common 150A BusBar, 20 screw terminals + 2 stud terminals, with cover, 130A AC / 150A DC. Manufacturer PN 2312.
The Blue Sea Systems Common 150A BusBar - 20 Gang with Cover doubles the screw-terminal capacity of the standard 10-gang bar, and adds a clear polycarbonate cover so the terminals are insulated right out of the box — no separate cover purchase needed.
Key features
- 130A AC / 150A DC continuous rating, 300V AC / 48V DC maximum
- 20 #8-32 screw terminals and 2 1/4in stud terminals
- Clear polycarbonate cover satisfies ABYC/USCG insulation requirements
- Insert-molded stainless steel studs eliminate the need for a securing nut
This 20-gang size is a common choice for a boat's main ground bus, where a large number of individual circuit returns need to land in one place, or as a positive distribution point feeding a bank of smaller downstream loads. The cover keeps exposed terminals protected without adding a separate ordering step.
Torque the screw terminals to 15 in-lb and the stud terminals to 60 in-lb. Because this bar has more terminals than the 10-gang version, plan its mounting location with extra depth clearance for the taller cover.
The cover's snap-on design still allows quick access for adding or re-terminating a circuit later, so you don't have to remove the whole bar from its mounting surface to service a single wire. Keep a spare cover in mind as a low-cost replacement item if the original is ever cracked during a haul-out or refit.
Because the stud terminals carry the heaviest current on this bar, check them periodically for a tight, corrosion-free connection — a loose or corroded stud connection is one of the more common sources of resistive heating in a busy DC distribution system.
