About this product
Veratron LinkUp J1939 to NMEA 2000 Gateway bridges a SAE J1939 engine CAN network to NMEA 2000 so a marine MFD or instrument can display supported engine parameters without adding a large centralized gateway. It is aimed at modern electronic diesel engines where the data already exists on J1939.
Key features
- Converts supported SAE J1939 engine data to standard NMEA 2000 messages
- Carries engine speed, hours, load, pressures, temperatures, fuel, electrical and transmission data where supported
- Transfers supported engine diagnostic/alarm information
- Galvanic isolation between J1939 and NMEA 2000 networks
- Contactless smartphone configuration
- NMEA 2000-powered, engine-compartment-rated LinkUp housing
- Optional engine-specific adapter cables for selected Volvo Penta and Yanmar applications
Integration and functionality
The gateway listens for supported J1939 SPNs and republishes the equivalent marine data/diagnostics to NMEA 2000. Actual data availability depends on what the engine ECM broadcasts; the gateway cannot create parameters that are absent from the engine bus.
Installation
Connect the J1939 side to the correctly terminated engine CAN network and the Micro-C side to the vessel NMEA 2000 backbone. Confirm engine-bus baud rate and instance configuration during commissioning.
Electrical and environmental
Powered through NMEA 2000 with a sealed LinkUp enclosure approved for engine-compartment installation.
Compatibility notes
Data availability is engine/ECM dependent. Verify the supported J1939 parameter set and engine connector/adapter before ordering.
