    About this product

Blue Sea Systems MAXI In-Line Fuse Holder, 48A max, 32V DC max, supplied with 5in lead wire. Manufacturer PN 5068.

The Blue Sea Systems MAXI In-Line Fuse Holder is a compact, pre-wired way to add MAXI-style fuse protection mid-circuit rather than at a panel. It comes with a 5" #6 red lead wire and two adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubes, and mounts through a firewall or bulkhead — the mounting hole is designed so two or more holders can be ganged together.

    Key features

    • 48A maximum, 32V DC maximum
    • Supplied with 5" #6 red lead wire and sealing shrink tubes
    • Protective cover with a retaining strap
    • Firewall/bulkhead mounting hole permits ganging multiple holders together

Note the amperage ceiling here: despite "MAXI" fuses being available up to 80A, this particular in-line holder's own maximum rating is 48A, and the manufacturer's current listing shows compatible fuses only up to 60A (PN 5138-5141). If your circuit needs a 70A or 80A MAXI fuse, use a MAXI Fuse Block rated for that amperage instead of this in-line holder.

Splice the lead wire into the circuit using the supplied heat-shrink tubes for a sealed, corrosion-resistant connection, and mount the holder somewhere accessible for future fuse changes.

Because this holder isn't sealed like Blue Sea's Safety Fuse Block line, mount it somewhere protected from direct spray — behind a panel, inside a dry lazarette, or on the engine side of a firewall. It's a common choice for a single accessory circuit run straight off a battery or bus bar, such as a bilge pump or accessory feed, where a full panel-mounted fuse block would be more hardware than the circuit needs.
