About this product
Veratron VL Digital 85 Multifunction Gauge - Triangular Chrome is Veratron’s next-generation configurable round instrument, combining a traditional gauge footprint with a modern digital display and flexible CAN/analog input architecture. Instead of buying a different fixed gauge for each parameter, the same hardware can be configured for supported engine, electrical, pressure, temperature and level data.
Key features
- Large digital round gauge configurable as tachometer, speedometer or other supported data display
- SAE J1939 CAN input with supported diagnostic/data parameters
- Resistive and frequency inputs for local sensors
- Dedicated alarm/telltale inputs plus configurable local alarms
- Contactless smartphone configuration through AirWave/NFC
- 8-pin and 14-pin MQS harnesses
- Fits both common 80 mm and 85 mm panel openings using the mounting system
Integration and functionality
Data can come from SAE J1939 or supported local analog inputs, depending on the selected gauge function. The smartphone configurator sets displayed data, scale, engine/sensor instance and warning/alarm behavior. Contactless transfer allows the instrument to be configured without a conventional programming cable.
Installation
The manual supports two common spinlock bores: approximately 80.5–81 mm or 85.5–86 mm, with 65 mm required mounting depth and 2–18 mm panel thickness. Optional flush mounting uses a 75.4 mm opening.
Electrical and environmental
12/24 V nominal, 8–32 V operating range and less than 75 mA at 12 V with maximum illumination. The manual lists IP57 front/IP52 rear protection and -20 to +60 °C operating temperature.
Compatibility notes
Configure the gauge before installing a chrome bezel because metallic content can interfere with the contactless NFC/AirWave configuration interface.
