    About this product

Veratron Analog Wind Sensor - Short Arm is a masthead wind instrument designed to provide responsive apparent wind angle and speed data for sailing and navigation systems. The shared mechanical sensor uses contactless measurement to reduce friction and wear at the masthead.

    Key features

    • Measures wind speed and direction
    • 725 mm short-arm masthead format
    • Contactless sensing for low mechanical friction
    • Factory-calibrated sensor
    • Analog outputs for compatible Veratron/VDO wind electronics
    • 7-pin analog connection with SIN/COS direction and speed-pulse signals

    Integration and functionality

The analog version provides separate direction and speed signals for compatible Veratron/VDO signal-processing equipment such as NavBox. Correct damping/offset and mast alignment should be commissioned in the receiving system.

    Installation

Mount at the masthead in clean airflow, aligned to the vessel centerline and away from obstructions. Route the cable with strain relief and protect connectors from mechanical load during mast service.

    Electrical and environmental

Electrical requirements depend on the connected analog wind interface; follow the sensor/NavBox wiring manual.
