About this product
Blue Sea Systems ANL Fuse, 750A rating, 80V DC maximum, 6,000A interrupt capacity. Manufacturer PN 5163.
The Blue Sea Systems ANL Fuse gives a wide 35-750A range of main DC circuit protection with a 6,000A interrupt rating that satisfies ABYC requirements for large battery banks. At 750A and 80V DC maximum, this fuse is not ignition protected — Blue Sea's ignition-protection rating for this ANL family tops out at 500A, so the 750A fuse is intended for non-ignition-protected installations such as below-deck battery compartments isolated from fuel vapor sources.
Key features
- 750A rating, 80V DC maximum
- 6,000A interrupt capacity (AIC)
- Not rated for ignition-protected installations
- Silver-plated connector blades resist marine corrosion
- Clear housing gives a visible indication when the fuse has blown
ANL fuses install in a matching Blue Sea ANL Fuse Block, most often on the main positive feed from a house or start battery bank, ahead of a bus bar or panel. It's confirmed compatible with the PN 5503 ANL Fuse Block, which accepts the full 35-750A ANL range in one holder. It's a common alternative to a Class T fuse on systems that don't need the Class T's higher 20,000A interrupt rating.
Keep the fuse's amperage matched to the wire gauge it protects — undersizing the fuse below the load will cause nuisance blows, while oversizing it leaves the wire underprotected.
ANL fuses are a familiar choice for boat owners upgrading an older DC distribution system, since the fuse blocks are inexpensive and the family covers everything from light branch circuits up to 750A main feeds. When replacing an existing ANL fuse, double check the printed amperage on the old fuse rather than assuming — fuses across this family share the same physical body size and will fit the same block.
