    About this product

Blue Sea Systems ANL Fuse, 500A rating, 80V DC maximum, 6,000A interrupt capacity , ignition protected. Manufacturer PN 5137.

The Blue Sea Systems ANL Fuse gives a wide 35-750A range of main DC circuit protection with a 6,000A interrupt rating that satisfies ABYC requirements for large battery banks. At 500A and 80V DC maximum, this fuse is ignition protected to SAE J1171, so it's safe to install in an engine room alongside a gasoline engine.

    Key features

    • 500A rating, 80V DC maximum
    • 6,000A interrupt capacity (AIC)
    • Ignition protected per SAE J1171
    • Silver-plated connector blades resist marine corrosion
    • Clear housing gives a visible indication when the fuse has blown

ANL fuses install in a matching Blue Sea ANL Fuse Block, most often on the main positive feed from a house or start battery bank, ahead of a bus bar or panel. It's confirmed compatible with the PN 5503 ANL Fuse Block, which accepts the full 35-750A ANL range in one holder. It's a common alternative to a Class T fuse on systems that don't need the Class T's higher 20,000A interrupt rating.

Keep the fuse's amperage matched to the wire gauge it protects — undersizing the fuse below the load will cause nuisance blows, while oversizing it leaves the wire underprotected.

ANL fuses are a familiar choice for boat owners upgrading an older DC distribution system, since the fuse blocks are inexpensive and the family covers everything from light branch circuits up to 750A main feeds. When replacing an existing ANL fuse, double check the printed amperage on the old fuse rather than assuming — fuses across this family share the same physical body size and will fit the same block.
