About this product
Blue Sea Systems AC Analog Ammeter, 0-100A, includes AC current transformer coil, 2-wire connection. Manufacturer PN 8258.
The Blue Sea Systems AC Analog Ammeter gives a classic, easy-to-read dial display of AC current draw from 0 to 100A, sensing current through an included coil that simply clips over the wire being measured — no need to break the circuit or install an inline shunt.
Key features
- 0-100A AC display range on a 2-3/4in analog dial
- Simple 2-wire connection; meter senses and powers itself from the coil
- Includes AC current transformer coil
- Backlit face for visibility in low light, with separate 12V/24V DC backlight connections
Because the coil simply clips around the conductor rather than being wired in series, installation is straightforward even on an existing circuit — slip the coil over the appropriate wire, connect the two meter leads, and the display is live. This is a common way to monitor shore power, generator, or inverter AC output at a glance from the helm or electrical panel.
An analog dial like this one gives an at-a-glance sense of load trending up or down that some boat owners find faster to read than a digital number, particularly useful for watching a generator or inverter's output climb as additional AC loads switch on. Pair it with the matching AC Analog Voltmeter (PN 9353) for a complete analog AC monitoring setup at the same panel location.
Because it senses through a coil rather than an inline connection, this meter also works well as a retrofit addition to an existing panel, since there's no need to disturb the original AC wiring to add current monitoring after the fact.
