About this product
Blue Sea Systems PowerPost, 3/8"-16 stud, 3/4" length (150A bus), 48V DC maximum, includes PowerPost Insulator. Manufacturer PN 2103.
The Blue Sea Systems PowerPost is a single insulated stainless steel stud built to terminate multiple large conductors at one connection point, without needing a full busbar's footprint. This version uses a 3/8"-16 stud, 3/4" length (150A bus).
Key features
- Connects high-amperage cables securely at one stud
- 3/8"-16 stud, 3/4" length (150A bus)
- Reinforced thermoplastic base material
- Includes a PowerPost Insulator (PN 4004) to cover the live connection
PowerPosts are a common choice for extending outboard engine wiring harnesses, adding a junction point for aftermarket accessories that need to share a battery cable's connection, or simply stacking several ring terminals at a spot where a full busbar wouldn't fit. Because it's a single stud rather than a multi-position bar, it works best where a handful of conductors need to share one point rather than being distributed across several isolated terminals. It's also a practical repair part when an existing stud connection has corroded or a boat owner is adding one more circuit to an already-crowded battery terminal.
Torque the stud to 140 in-lb (15.82 Nm) when installing. Always install the included insulator cap once wiring is complete, since the stud and stacked ring terminals are otherwise exposed to accidental contact. Stacking order matters less electrically than keeping every ring terminal fully seated and the retaining nut torqued to spec, since a loose stack is the most common cause of a PowerPost failure. Confirm each ring terminal's inner diameter matches the stud size before ordering, since a mismatched terminal won't seat flush against the others in the stack. This "Plus" version adds a 150A internal bus and #8-32 screw connection, so it can also accept a smaller branch wire directly at the base, not just stacked ring terminals on the stud.
